Small Russian Hand Made Lacquer Trinket box Artist signed

Now offered is this small Russian lacquer trinket box. 3 inches wide good condition.

This listing shows a hand-painted Russian lacquer box, a traditional folk-art collectible.
These boxes are made from papier-mâché, which is formed, pressed, and treated with linseed oil before being painted.
The art form originated in the late 1700s, with artists transitioning from icon painting to lacquer miniatures after the 1917 revolution.
Each box is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art, often signed by the artist.
The primary schools of this art form are located in the villages of Palekh, Mstera, Kholui, and Fedoskino, whose names are often inscribed on the boxes.
