Wording on the seal is NOTARY PUBLIC at top and STANISLAUS CO., CAL. at the bottom. Cast iron construction with bronze and lead at seal area. With indented cast body sides. No observed maker mark. Black painted body with red accents at indents and gold trim near base. Some of the original finish worn off and has some areas of rust and small pitting. Item works but the interior spring is a bit weak - lever will not automatically return to upright position after use. About 10 tall with handle in upright position and about 6 tall when handle is down. About 5-3/4 long at base and about 2 wide at base. Makes a seal impression that is about 1-7/8 in diameter. Item weighs about 4 pounds 7-1/2 ounces.
